Short Break

I haven’t painted since before last week. I had surgery so I’ve been pretty out of it. I should get back to painting no later than tomorrow. I won’t be working on the Goblins for a bit as I’ve got two pieces that I need done by Saturday evening.

The two I’ll be working on are:

Ursula, Dwarven Bear Rider

And Arael, Half Elf Cleric

Last Week

This past week has been full of real life stuff. It all had to be dealt with in a timely manner so no time for painting. I’d planned on being done with my SoB heroes but I’m not. I won’t have time to sit down and paint until tomorrow. At the very least I can get back at it Monday. My to-do list looks like this now though:

  • Serpent Grand Shaman
  • Sargent Bunker
  • Female & Male Outlaws
  • Female Gunslinger
  • Male Gunslinger #2
  • Male Rancher
  • Female Rancher #2
  • Female & Male Prospectors
  • Nun
  • Female US Marshal
  • Piano Player
  • Saloon Girl #2
  • Female Bandida
  • Male Bandido #2
  • Female & Male Orphans
  • Female Indian Scout
  • Female Sheriff
  • Female & Male Drifters

Only 9 more to go! The Male Prospector has been started but not finished with him yet, I didn’t write down colors for his mining gear so I need to really sit down and figure that out.

Progress Update 2

I’ve finished 10 out of the 27 minis I need to do. It turns out painting all that leather when I did is a HUGE time saver. I went back and put some washes on Sgt. Bunker and he looks much better now. I painted up the male and female outlaws and the female gunslinger yesterday. Will set things up and get started here soon for the day. I’m hoping to get another 3-4 done, if not more.

Mini Count

I finished 5 minis yesterday, which brings me to 5 for the month and 28/150 for the year. I didn’t sleep much last night so I’m not sure any painting will get done today.

There are 22 more resin minis to do that will get started today or tomorrow. I took 22 pages of notes for color schemes. I’m not sure how sleep deprived I am currently but I’m sure at some point I won’t be able to follow my notes at all.

I did however go over to Realtimeboard.com (this is not an ad, it’s something I actually use) and made a couple of timelines. One for just my resin mini project and then one for me to keep track of my work for the year with other notes I might need/don’t want to lose. It’s a great organizing tool for lots of things. I use it a lot when I write as well.

Here’s what it looks like so far:

April To-do List

This month may well rival Minivember from last year (which I will be doing again this year, tentatively). Here’s what I have to do:

  • Serpent Grand Shaman
  • Sargent Bunker
  • Female & Male Outlaws
  • Female Gunslinger
  • Male Gunslinger #2
  • Male Rancher
  • Female Rancher #2
  • Female & Male Prospectors
  • Nun
  • Female US Marshal
  • Piano Player
  • Saloon Girl #2
  • Female Bandida
  • Male Bandido #2
  • Female & Male Orphans
  • Female Indian Scout
  • Female Sheriff
  • Female & Male Drifters

That’s only 22 more minis.

It’s April…

Which means that all my resin minis need to be done by or before the end of the month. I’ve finished up the Void Magus and the Swamp Raptor, who isn’t actually resin but he was a speed paint to get me going today. I’ve broken down all the minis on paper so I can start planning color schemes. There are two that I need to find older notes for since I want them to somewhat match their counterparts.

Here’s some photos!

Shadows of Brimstone Update

All the minis have been primed. My primer did in fact stick, I’m still letting it cure so we’ll see how well it worked once it’s fully dry. I should be able to commence painting in the next day or two. I need to decide what I’m going to start with. With 27 models it’s a bit overwhelming. I’ll probably start with the 4 plastic minis since they are much less fragile. Beyond that I’m not sure how I’ll pick what to start with.
