September is coming up very quickly; I’ve got a little less than a week to finish things for August. Some things are not getting done that I thought would and some that I didn’t expect to get started got started. First off here is my list for the month: I finished everything highlighted in greenContinue reading “September…Soon™”

April Goals
I’ve got a lot to do this month. As mentioned in my last post I am working on opening up an online shop to sell some of my painted miniatures and take small commissions. I am also working on the Reaper Challenge League. I do expect to sell some of these minis in my shop.Continue reading “April Goals”
Opening Shop
I’ve kept this pretty under wraps for the most part but I am happy to announce I am one step closer to opening my shop to sell, for now, pre-painted miniatures by me! I may dabble in some commission work but it will be very selective if I do. I’m slowly getting the supplies togetherContinue reading “Opening Shop”
February Down
I didn’t get much done this month. I’ve been dealing with some personal stuff and haven’t had a lot of painting time. I did get a little painting done. I painted the Bones Dire Crab by Reaper Miniatures with 5 colors. I did however start some different kind of painting. I have started to doContinue reading “February Down”
Tools of the Trade: Minis: Bones Black
“I’m back! Now, tell me about Bones Black.” Bones Black is a new material developed by Reaper Miniatures. As of January 2019 they will be releasing a mini a month in this material throughout the year. If you were a part of their fourth Bones Kickstarter you will also be getting some along with theContinue reading “Tools of the Trade: Minis: Bones Black”
February 2019 Goals
Where did January go? No matter where it went I’m sure it’ll be back eventually. It’s the first of February so it’s time for a monthly goals post. First some updates: I finished the Frost Giant Queen! The giveaway is still running through tomorrow so if you want to enter head over to my FacebookContinue reading “February 2019 Goals”
Tools of the Trade: Minis: Resin and Plastic
This week we’re talking about non-metal miniatures. It’s all about plastics and resin this week. First up resin! “So what is resin and how is it different from plastic?” Resin can hold a great amount of detail and is considered superior to plastic in that aspect. There are, however, many downsides of working with resin.Continue reading “Tools of the Trade: Minis: Resin and Plastic”
Happy New Year!
It’s 2019! Time for new goals and projects. First an update on last year’s projects: Frost Giant Queen is almost done. Still lots of things shelved that I hope to pick back up and finish this year. Still need to take some photos of a bunch of things. This year I want to work onContinue reading “Happy New Year!”
Minivember: The Last, A Final Update
I finished Minivember about 9 PM last night. I will sometime this week sit down and take good photos and a group shot. If I’ve done my math right I’ve painted 77 minis in the last month. This is obviously well above the 30 mini mark but this only adds up to 30 unique sculpts. Continue reading “Minivember: The Last, A Final Update”
Tools of the Trade: Handy Things
This week’s blog is about things that are helpful but not necessary to have around. “So what kind of things might I want to have around?” First and foremost in my opinion are notebooks. Notebooks are handy for many things in the miniature painting world. You can use them to do things like plan outContinue reading “Tools of the Trade: Handy Things”
